Emerging New School of Artists Causing a Stir Among Viewers

This is the work of a new and unconventional set of artists, based along the East Coast who work primarily in the digital collage medium. The group interacts online and likes to be known as the Copy-and-Pasters, a name which refers to their artistic technique and their philosophy: "Cut and Paste is all it takes". Their subject matter is versatile, but exploring identity through popular culture is a major theme.

PWRBALS was able to conduct an interview with one of the principal members of the Copy-and-Pasters, Katelyn:

PWR: What inspires you to create these thought-provoking images?
KC: I'd say my wonderful friends, family, and Jesse McCartney.
PWR: Wow! Do you feel a strong connection with your viewers?
KC: Yes, I do. Their feedback encourages me to create more images. And "Hello!" to your dad.
PWR: Wonderful. Do you have a message of action for your fans or more of a call to introspection?

KC: Yes, to follow your heart and create whatever art your heart tells you to. Whether your art be soap sculptures or digital collage, create what your soul tells you to create.

PWR: That's a beautiful message. Do you also write songs? Because that would be a beautiful song.

KC: Yes, I do actually. I take inspiration from my own experiences and toupees. Look for my new album in stores June 31!

PWR: Your manager, Uncle Jim, has provided us with the details of the CD release, so we will be waiting anxiously! Any other thoughts for our readers?

KC: Yes, "I've Got a Butt"!

PWR: Thank you!

KC: No, Thank you!

*handshake emoticon*

Always looking for new media and forms of expression, The Copy-and-Pasters expect to release a collective DVD on June 42.
